Toury's Marks of a Translation III

Gideon Toury's third mark of a translation is the relationship postulate: The relationship postulate claims that: there are tangibke relationships which tie the assumed translation to its assumed original. Thanks to these relationships we can talk about translations being more or less literal, functional, adaptive, and so on. The translation, for example, must follow the same order as the original.
