Social Influence?

The Coding Manual for Qualitative Researchers, 2nd Edition,
Johnny Saldana, Sage, 2013, page 113

In an otherwise unexceptional section on Values Coding, Saldana claims that:

Values within an individual are influenced and affected by the social and cultural networks to whuch e or she belongs. Differential association, for example, is a sociological theory tht suggests the people's values are influenced by the groups they interact with most intensively.
